Jun Luo
I am a final-year Ph.D. candidate in the Intelligent Systems Program at University of Pittsburgh. I work with Dr. Shandong Wu from Pitt and closely collaborate with Dr. Chen Chen from CRCV group at University of Central Florida on advancing some of the machine learning and computer vision techniques. Topics I am interested in include Vision-Language Models, federated learning, and knowledge-guided curriculum learning.
Previously, I was a research intern at SonyAI working on federated learning. I served as reviewer for top-tier conferences and journals including NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ECCV, AAAI, MICCAI, and JBHI. I received my M.S. in Electrical Engineering degree at University of Southern California as an Honors Fellow and my B.E. in Electrical Engineering and Automation degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
During my free time, I enjoy playing Go, an ancient Chinese chess game, with my wife or with KataGo. I also play the piano for fun, for which my ultimate goal is to be able to perform Beethoven Moonlight Sonata (Op.27 No.2) 3rd Mov. before I finish my Ph.D.
